Al-Infitar
The Cleaving
1 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 001
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
When the sky breaks apart.
2 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 002
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ
and when the stars fall, scattered,
3 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 003
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ
and when the seas burst forth,
4 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 004
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ
and when the graves are overturned,
5 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 005
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ
then each soul will come to know what it has done or what it has left undone.
6 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 006
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ
O mankind, what has lured you away from your Lord, the Most Generous,
7 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 007
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
Who created you, then shaped and proportioned you,
8 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 008
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
and assembled you in whatever form He willed?
9 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 009
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
No indeed; but you deny the Judgment Day,
10 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 010
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
while there are watchers[1] over you,
[1] i.e., angels who preserve all your deeds.
11 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 011
كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ
honorable scribes,
12 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 012
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
who know whatever you do.
13 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 013
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ
Indeed, the righteous will be in Bliss,
14 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 014
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ
and the wicked will be in Blazing Fire,
15 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 015
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
which they will enter on Judgment Day,
16 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 016
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
and will never come out of it.
17 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 017
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
How do you know what Judgment Day is?
18 - Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) - 018
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
Again, how do you know what Judgment Day is?
