Al-Mursalat
The Emissaries
1 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 001
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِ عُرۡفٗا
By those [winds] sent forth in succession,
2 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 002
فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصۡفٗا
those that blow violently,
3 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 003
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشۡرٗا
and scatter [rainclouds] far and wide,
4 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 004
فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرۡقٗا
And by those [angels] who bring criterion[1];
[1] To Allah's messengers to distinguish between truth and falsehood.
5 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 005
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا
and those who deliver revelation,
6 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 006
عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا
leaving no excuse or giving warning –
7 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 007
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
what you are promised will surely come to pass.
8 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 008
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ
So when the stars are effaced,
9 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 009
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ
and when the sky is split apart,
10 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 010
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ
and when the mountains are blown away,
11 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 011
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ
and when the messengers are summoned[2],
[2] To testify concerning their nations.
12 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 012
لِأَيِّ يَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ
until which Day has all this been postponed?
13 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 013
لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
Until the Day of Judgment.
14 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 014
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
How do you know what the Day of Judgment is?
15 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 015
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers[3]!
[3] i.e., Death and destruction be upon them.
16 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 016
أَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Did We not destroy the earlier nations?
17 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 017
ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Then We will do likewise to the later ones.
18 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 018
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
This is how We deal with the wicked.
19 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 019
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
20 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 020
أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٖ مَّهِينٖ
Did We not create you from a worthless fluid,
21 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 021
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٍ
then We placed it in a secure repository
22 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 022
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
for a determined period[4]?
[4] See 23:12-14
23 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 023
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَٰدِرُونَ
For We determined it; How excellently We determine!
24 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 024
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
25 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 025
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا
Have We not made the earth a receptacle[5]
[5] i.e., a lodging, a container that contains all people.
26 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 026
أَحۡيَآءٗ وَأَمۡوَٰتٗا
for the living and the dead,
27 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 027
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ شَٰمِخَٰتٖ وَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُم مَّآءٗ فُرَاتٗا
and placed therein firm towering mountains, and given you fresh water to drink?
28 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 028
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
29 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 029
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
[They will be told,] “Proceed to that [Fire] which you used to deny!
30 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 030
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلّٖ ذِي ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٖ
Proceed to the shadow [of smoke] ascending in three columns,
31 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 031
لَّا ظَلِيلٖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
that provides neither shade nor protection from the flames.
32 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 032
إِنَّهَا تَرۡمِي بِشَرَرٖ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
Indeed, it [i.e., Hell] throws up sparks as big as castles,
33 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 033
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٞ صُفۡرٞ
as if they were tawny camels[6].
[6] i.e., huge and black camels.
34 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 034
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
35 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 035
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
On that Day they won’t speak,
36 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 036
وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
nor will they be allowed to make excuses.
37 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 037
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
38 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 038
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ جَمَعۡنَٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
[They will be told,] “This is the Day of Judgment: We have gathered you along with the earlier generations.
39 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 039
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٞ فَكِيدُونِ
So if you have any scheme, then plot it against Me.”
40 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 040
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
41 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 041
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَٰلٖ وَعُيُونٖ
Indeed, the righteous will be amid shades and springs
42 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 042
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
and will have whatever fruit they desire.
43 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 043
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
[They will be told,] “Eat and drink joyfully, as a reward for what you used to do.”
44 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 044
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
This is how We reward those who do good.
45 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 045
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
46 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 046
كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ
“Eat and enjoy yourselves for a while; you are truly wicked.”
47 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 047
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
48 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 048
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُواْ لَا يَرۡكَعُونَ
When it is said to them, “Bow [in prayer],” they do not bow.
49 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 049
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers!
50 - Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries) - 050
