Al-Humazah
The Traducer
1 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 001
وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ
Woe to every backbiter and slanderer,
2 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 002
ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ
who amasses wealth and counts it over and again[1],
[1] Instead of spending in the way of Allah.
3 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 003
يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ
thinking that his wealth will make him live forever.
4 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 004
كَلَّاۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِي ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ
No indeed! He will surely be cast into the Crushing Fire[2],
[2] i.e., Hellfire, as it crushes and destroys all that is thrown in it.
5 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 005
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ
and how do you know what the Crushing Fire is?
6 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 006
نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ
It is the kindled Fire of Allah,
7 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 007
ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ
which reaches the hearts[3].
[3] Penetrating through bodies and reaching the hearts.
8 - Al-Humazah (The Traducer) - 008
إِنَّهَا عَلَيۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةٞ
It will be closed down upon them,
