العصر

وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ 1

By time,[1985]

Translation notes

[1985] An oath in which Allāh swears by time throughout the ages.

إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ 2

Indeed, mankind is in loss,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ 3

Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
