At-Takathur

 

The Rivalry in world increase

1 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 001

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
Competition for worldly gains distracts you [from Allah],

2 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 002

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ
until you come to your graves.

3 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 003

كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ
No indeed! You will come to know.

4 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 004

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ
Again no! You will come to know.

5 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 005

كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
No indeed! If only you knew for certain[1].
[1] The conclusion of this verse, "...you would not have been distracted from preparing for the Hereafter by wealth and children."

6 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 006

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ
You will surely see the Blazing Fire,

7 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 007

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Again, you will see it with absolute certainty.

8 - At-Takathur (The Rivalry in world increase) - 008

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Then on that Day you will surely be asked about your worldly pleasures[2].
[2] i.e., of health and wealth and other comforts of the worldly life.
