Title: The Expiation for a Gathering or Talk
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever sits in a gathering where there is idle talk (i.e., speech with no benefit) and then says before getting up from that gathering: _’Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk’_(Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship in truth except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance), he will be forgiven for what took place in that gathering.”
