1. Fearful consciousness of Allah (i.e., taqwa), increasing supplications, as Yusuf ﷺ prayed, "...Unless You turn away their plot from me, I will feel inclined towards them..." Quran, 12:33

2. Reflecting on the meaning of your Rabb (i.e., Lord) compensating His servant if he leaves a sin in the sake of Allah; the Prophet ﷺ said, "You will not leave something for Allah except that Allah will replace it with something better for you.” Narrated by Ahmad.

3. Abstaining from speaking about anything related to sexual desire, and purifying gatherings from [sexually] immoral words and actions.

4. Hastening to get married as soon as one is able to do so. If he is unable to do so, then he should fast, “because it will be a restraint for him.” Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim.

5. Reducing [consumption of] food and drink, as it weakens sexual desire.

6. Lowering the gaze, staying away from [feemixing] places where women are present (such as markets) and from being alone with non-mahram women.

7. Ordering women to wear the full Islamic veil, and not to speak to them softly, or to be alone with them, or to shake hands with them, or to mix with them.

8. Reading Surat Yusuf and the story of Yusuf ﷺ, pondering on it, as well as the rest of the stories of the Quran and Sunnah, and the seerah of the salaf (i.e., righteous predecessors).

9. Accompanying the righteous people who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and avoiding bad company who call to evil.

10. What goes around comes around. If you fornicate with other women, other men will fornicate with your women.

11. Keeping oneself busy with what benefits it, and avoiding idleness (i.e., freetime), for idleness is deadly, because in it one is alone with shaytan and the soul that commands evil.

12. Avoiding means that increase lust and leads to corruption, like the electronic devices and apps and what they contain.

13. Putting the phone and computer in a place where others can see them, because a person becomes weak when he is alone, as previously mentioned.

14. Maintaining the ritual of forbidding evil, even at its lowest level which is denouncing it with at least the heart, because that revives the heart and compels it to do good.
